Compensation/Equity Accounting specialist

About the Position

Our Chicago client is targeting a Compensation/Equity Accounting specialist to will work on many detail-oriented activities such as recording journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly closing procedures and financial statement reporting specific to payroll, severance, deferred compensation plan, and equity awards. This person will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Payroll and various other finance professionals. This person will record and reconcile all compensation, prepaid amortization, payroll and equity related transactions and enhance record employee loans and severance payments. The Compensation/Equity Accounting specialist will also need to maintain employee equity schedules and related transactions including the annual dividend calculation and amortization schedules. This person will also prepare quarterly and annual equity roll forward as it relates to equity compensation plans and record and reconcile deferred compensation activity.

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting)
  • CPA or progressing towards CPA is strongly preferred
  • 5 years of Compensation and Equity experience
  • Analytical reasoning skills and experience with financial analysis
  • Solid experience utilizing Excel
